A Northamptonshire site manager has received national recognition for the quality of his work at a housing development in Desborough.
Cymon Robinson, project manager at Bellway’s Weavers Fields development, has been named among the winners of the National House Building Council’s 2026 Pride in the Job Quality Awards.
It is the fifth time the 48-year-old, who lives in Northampton, has received a Quality Award during his career. He has also previously secured two Seals of Excellence and a Regional Award in later stages of the competition.
Cymon said the recognition reflected the standards maintained by the whole construction team.
“We build homes as if we are building them for ourselves and our families,” he said.
“It is all about attention to detail, setting high standards and meeting them without exception. It is hard work, but seeing the result and knowing customers are happy makes it worthwhile.
“We take great pride in the homes we are building, and it is immensely rewarding for the whole team when our work is recognised.”
Now in their 45th year, the Pride in the Job Awards recognise site managers working across the UK housebuilding industry.
This year, 449 winners were selected from approximately 7,500 site managers inspected by the NHBC.
The judging process examines a wide range of responsibilities, including leadership, technical knowledge, attention to detail, consistency, health and safety, and the interpretation of building plans and specifications.
Judges also carry out unannounced visits to assess the day-to-day management of each development.
Cymon will now progress to the next stage of the competition, with the Seal of Excellence and Regional Award winners due to be announced in the autumn.
